Archer’s debut brought her work to light back in 2011 when she held an exhibition for her Crazy Mad project at the Cornerhouse. This month she delivers a unique perspective on the social impact of the internet with her latest exhibition for HOME Projects.
ARTISTS IN THE FRAME : SELF-PORTRAITS BY VAN DYCK AND OTHERS | Manchester Art Gallery | until 31 August
With over three centuries worth of work to show, Artists in the Frame is an event that deals with the issue of individual expression by looking at the self-portraits of famous artists such as Van Dyck and William Hogarth. The tour of this gallery showcases the rare self-portrait of Sir Anthony van Dyck, which came under the authorisation of the National Portrait Gallery recently.

For anyone who loves travel or experiencing new cultures – let alone the simple beauty of art - creator Uli Sigg brings this photographic depiction of contemporary Chinese culture to the North West. The Manchester International Festival is back, and you can get a fully rounded view of what’s happening on this city-walking tour that takes tourists on journey to some of Manchester’s best-known sites. Lead by Manchester Confidential Editor, Jonathan Schofield, discover the history of the city every day at 12:30pm during the festival.
FROM WHERE I'M SITTING | National Football Museum | 5 July
From Where I’m Sitting is part of the Greater Game exhibition, a commemoration of the historic football players during World War One. It provides a more in-depth look at some of the key players, including the impact of the war on the home front.
