According to Gordo in his review of the re-invented Socio Rehab, the Man V Food style bite to eat is "THIRTY QUID and bloody massive. Mental. At least a porn star fourteen inches and as thick as a tyre."
It's the daddy of all burritos containing crispy beef, BBQ pulled Pork, shredded beer and chicken with skin on potato fries, cheese, spicy rice, grilled onions & salad lubed with secret taco sauce with guacamole.

Music: Woody Sez – The Story Of Woody Guthrie, The Lowry: 7-9 February
Woody Guthrie is the popular hero’s hero who may not be known by the majority of people. Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Bragg are among today’s musical icons who have all paid tribute to the influence Guthrie had on them. In a new homage to the ‘American folk legend’ Broadway star David Lutken will bring Guthrie’s music to life with the help of three multi-instrumentalist folk musicians.
Part music, part words Woody Sez weaves together the collected works of a man who ‘would always be there whenever working folks fight for their rights.’ Tickets are priced £16-£18 and are available with further information here.

LGBT: Remembering Flesh, MOSI: 8 February
As part of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender (LGBT) History Month, MOSI is hosting a nostalgic look at one of Manchester’s most prominent gay club nights – Flesh. Paul Cons, the promoter of Hacienda event, will talk at MOSI about the origins of the night and the impact it had on the city.
Cocktails inspired by the menu at the Gay Traitor bar will be on offer alongside tales of the event and a look back at one of Manchester’s most historic clubs. MOSI’s latest exhibition, Behind The Scene: Stories From Manchester’s LGBT Communities will also be open for the evening. The event starts at 6.30pm-8.30pm with tickets available here.
Flesh Memory
Exhibition: Strike A Pose, National Football Museum: 8 February-27 August.
A new exhibition of football and fashion opened this week (See Confidential’s interview with Sol Campbell at the launch night here) and it’s well worth a look for those interested in one or the other, or both together.
Best, Beckham and Henry have all donated items of clothing along with numerous others. The fans fashion section in particular is worth a look to see the progression from Sunday best to cagoule wearers via skinheads. The exhibition occupies the third floor and is free entry for all.
Sol's Pose
Music: The NME Award Tour Afterparty featuring The Strypes, Academy 3: 8 February
Recently tipped by the NME as one of the ‘Most Exciting New Bands Of 2013’, The Strypes are a 4-piece band hailing from Cavan, Ireland. Formed in 2011 by Ross Farrelly (lead vocals/harmonica), Josh McClorey (lead guitar/vocals), Pete O’Hanlon (bass guitar/harmonica) and Evan Walsh (drums) they have a raw explosive sound that harks back to the glory days of garage rock and rhythm & blues.
They will be appearing at the NME afterparty along with Django Django who will be performing a DJ set following their headline appearance in Academy 1. Tickets cost £5 and are available here.
The Strypes
Music: Gesamtkunstwerk, Islington Mill: 8 February
‘Gesamtkunstwerk’ - try and say that ten times in a row quickly. Translating as ‘whole arts work’ in German, this bi-monthly night at Salford’s Islington mill offers ‘outsider electronics’. The event is co-hosted by Mancunian motorik space-drone outfit Gnod who have gained quiet critical success over the past few months.
This edition of Gesamtkunstwerk features Steven Bishop who runs the North-East based Opal Tapes label. Those looking for a more experimental soundscape to their Friday evening would be well advised to take a stroll to the old Mill. Music: Riot Jazz, Antwerp Mansion: 9 February
The brilliantly bold Balearic brass blowing brothers Riot Jazz are back with their first show of 2013 and as usual it promises to be one of the most fun nights of the year. Alongside the horn blowing fanatics will be Extra Love. Hand-picked by Riot Jazz themselves they promise to bring a fusion of funk, soul, reggae and afro-beat.
As if that wasn’t enough Jonny Dub will be making sure the Mansion volume levels stay at the top end by plumbing the depths of those deep vinyl crates of his. Doors are 10pm-3am and tickets are priced at £5.50/£6.50 and are available from here.
Riot Jazz
Festival: Chinese New Year, City Centre: 10 February
The year of the Dragon is dying down to embers and the year of the Snake is slithering into view. As is tradition the coming of the serpentine themed New Year will be celebrated in Manchester in a superb explosion of colour with fireworks, parades, traditional Chinese performances and street stalls.
The Snake represents a period of steady progress and attention to detail, although the Dragon will have one last roar on Sunday as a 175ft fire breather parades its way through the streets from the Town Hall to China Town at 1pm. For more info check here.
