The Best In Stand Up is back this weekend on Saturday 19 May at The Comedy Store, Deansgate Locks. Among the acts dishing up the dose of laughs are Canadian comedian Sean Collins (as seen on BBC 1 Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow) and British comedian Adam Bloom.

The Dictator
Hitting our screens this week is the controversial Sacha Baron Cohen, who you may remember as Kazakhstan’s finest when he played the character Borat. Cohen’s new film is called The Dictator which sees the ‘heroic’ story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed - directed by Larry Charles.

Vampirette
Vampirette has premiered at the Manchester Opera House since May 4 and this Saturday 19 May will be the last showing of the play – and this one’s not one to miss. The brand new musical comedy is packed full of fang-tastic fun, guaranteed to suck the laughs out of you.

Ok we understand the irony given the above recommendation but Meat Free In Manchester is a free event this Saturday 19 May at Albert Square. The event will involve creative cookery, a banger bonanza, sausage silliness and lots more family fun.
There’ll be smoothie bikes, giant card games, free samples, information and food stalls.

The Manchester Vintage Fashion Market is on on the third Saturday of every month at Piccadilly Gardens, which means this Saturday; vintage garments from the roaring 20s to the colourful 80s will be available to buy.
Traders sell a collection of vintage clothing and accessories, including hats, shoes, gloves and jewellery.
