The superb Jerry Seinfeld comes to Manchester on Saturday 12 May for a dose of live stand up at the MEN Arena.
Unbelievably, there are still tickets left to see the American colossus of comedy whose sitcom, Seinfeld, commanded 70 million viewers, and makes him more than $100million a year in DVD sales alone.

Beats Rhymes and Life: The Travels Of A Tribe Called Quest is being screened on Saturday 12 May at the Northern Quarter’s newest creative space, 2022NQ.
Michael Rapaport documents the inner workings and behind the scenes drama that follows the Queens, New York, collective known as 'A Tribe Called Quest'.
From forging a 20-year run as one of the most innovative and influential hip hop bands of all time, to their much publicised breakup in 1998, Rapaport explores what's next for, what many claim, are the pioneers of alternative rap.
Entry is free on a first come first served basis. Doors open at 6pm.

Sarah Frankcom’s production of Miss Julie closes at the Royal Exchange Theatre this weekend so if you’d like to catch the critically acclaimed show, then you’d better hurry.
Maxine Peake, known for her television appearances in Silk, the BAFTA nominated Hancock & Joan, and Shameless, is reunited with director Sarah Frankcom to play the role of Miss Julie. Frankcom’s recent successes at the exchange include the award-winning Punk Rock and A View From The Bridge.

Join Graeme Park for the first in a series of four live club/broadcast events taking ravers and listeners on a journey through the history of house music together on Friday 11 May.
Basement is Manchester’s newest underground venue. A converted Ancoats factory, fitted with the sound of Blacka Acoustics, it provides an industrial backdrop, echoing the feel of Downtown New York, and is perfectly suited for a raw party atmosphere.

Those Black Dog Ballroom folk have opened a new bar called Black Dog NWS (New Wakefield Street), so why not check it out over the weekend.
This sister branch of the Northern Quarter favourite has transformed the old Pure Space bar into a New York style speakeasy diner, complete with roof terrace and basement club.
The venue, which is stylishly designed by Manchester based agency Start Judge Gill, is spread over three floors.

How does a boned trotter, over mash, with sausages, and seasonal veg sound?
Our own Jonathan Schofield found the sausages full of character, the mash a creamy joy, and the whole thing perfectly delivered. John Farrer has transformed Teacup from a Northern Quarter tea and cake shop, to an eatery with top quality coming out of the kitchen.

Out2Dance Manchester are bringing Same Gender Tango to Manchester this weekend at Manto Bar, Canal Street.
Taught by Lora Hudson, an award-winning Tango teacher, the event offers drop-in classes followed by a practice.
Classes are 1pm -2pm for beginners, 2:15pm – 3:15pm for improvers, and 3:15pm – 5pm for practice and social dancing.
