Starting on Tuesday 9 February, The Pen and Pencil will be sorting the grey matter from the candy floss with their new weekly quiz night.
Dan Pollard, co-owner of The Pen and Pencil said, “We’re really excited to host our very first quiz night. We’ve always known the Northern Quarter are a brainy bunch and now it’s time to prove it. We’re hoping it’ll be a great night that everyone can get stuck into, especially for the after-work crowds. What better way to build some team spirit than with a little trivia?”
Local quizmaster, John Stansfield will be taking the helm and putting the punters through their paces with four rounds which include film and TV, general knowledge, music and a special wildcard round. Follow him @johnwinsagain
Stack the odds in your favour by choosing the wild card round yourself. Every week the losing team will be offered a choice of topics from which to choose the wildcard round.
For the first on Tueday 9 February, the wildcard round will chosen by twitter poll. Have your say @penandpencilnq
It's a pound per contestant and as well as the kudos, the winning team takes all the money. Best team name gets a round of beers.
