ANYONE stuck in a lunch rut should have a look at new Spinningfields venue The Long Bar. People flock here to quaff cocktails in the sun but it's also got an enticing range of lunch and after-work eats.
The deli boards make a good companion to a chilled, crisp glass of sauvignon blanc
The menu is simple but big on detail and on portion sizes. (Check out their Pinterest gallery to see what we mean.) They do hot and cold gourmet sandwiches bursting with fresh, generous fillings, plus delicious deli boards, and the summer classic, strawberries and cream.
The gourmet sandwiches will enliven even the most jaded taste buds.
Made fresh and served on a warm ciabatta, options include Hoi sin duck with diced Chinese cabbage and coriander; Brie with beetroot and cranberry sauce; and Chorizo with salted butter and watercress – plus there are daily freshly roasted meat options such as Roast pork with sage and onion stuffing and apple sauce.
At £4.50, the sandwiches are priced just right for a workday treat or a weekend bite. You can eat in or take away. Grab a deckchair on the lawns if you're fast enough.
The deli boards are also priced at £4.50, and make a good companion to a chilled, crisp glass of sauvignon blanc.
Dive into Parma ham with olives, salad and ciabatta, or Stilton with plum and apple chutney, salad and ciabatta.
Cooking dinner at home tonight suddenly seems like a very silly idea.
