THE GENTING CLUB on Portland Street is undergoing an extensive refurbishment to update and expand its facilities.

The investment, which will total over £4million once the development is complete, is due for completion in late September.

The Genting Club, previously the Circus Casino, will remain open throughout the refurbishment as the work is being carried out in stages.

The refurb has already seen the creation of a new VIP Salle Privee for high stakes gaming, and will soon include a new open reception area, and a new cash desk.

A new restaurant, named Fahrenheit, will offer a quality Grill menu using local, seasonal produce – plus there’s a new cocktail and champagne bar.

Interactive tables, which allow you to choose your own music, and use learn-to-play features, will also be a part of the new-look casino.

The refurb will result in the creation of at least 10 new jobs for local people to staff the larger restaurant and bar facilities.

Genting Club Manchester General Manager, Debbie Phillips, said: “We already have some of the best gaming facilities in the city, and we wanted to improve these for the benefit of all our customers.

“We are also updating our restaurant, bar and all-round leisure facilities so that those customers who don’t necessarily want to game, and simply want to enjoy a first class meal and a drink, can do so in stylish, comfortable surroundings.”

Managing Director for Genting UK’s provincial estate, Paul Willcock, said: “Manchester is already one of our most successful Clubs, but we wanted to invest in it to ensure existing and potential customers continue to have the best possible experience.

“We look forward to transforming the space inside so that The Genting Club remains one of Manchester’s premier leisure destinations for residents and visitors to the city alike.”
