LET battle commence.

Win or lose, Breakout is an addictive experience

At Confidential, we like to think we’re a pretty relaxed bunch but Breakout brought all our office rivalries to the fore. Talk about competitive.

Two teams went into the Most Wanted room and both of them came back out again but it wasn’t exactly a draw. In fact Team 2 were the undisputed champions. By some distance – as they keep reminding us.

Team 1

Team 2 - The winners

Not only do you have to escape from ‘Most Wanted’, you also have to collect as many coins as possible – think of yourself as Wild West bounty hunters but with fewer gunfights and far more deductive reasoning.

We broke out with just over a minute to spare and 34 coins whilst Team 2 managed to collect twenty more coins with six minutes left. We know when we’re beaten.

Win or lose, Breakout is an addictive experience. It gets the adrenaline pumping and helps you bond as a team. The Western theme was interesting twist with a convincing soundscape and cowboy hats to wear.

The two teams mentally preparing in different ways...

Here’s what some of the Confidential posse had to say about it all:

Alana: ‘It was daunting at first but once you work out the first clue and unlock the first padlock, the adrenaline starts to kick in. It’s great working as a team and really exciting.’

Emma: ‘We literally had no idea at first but once you find the first clue, it spurs you on to find another one. It was pretty tough but then you start to get your head around it as you discover more clues.’

Olivia: ‘It sounded complicated but the TV screen gave us clues when we needed them. It feels great knowing we broke out!’

Lucy: ‘It’s a great team-building exercise. Everyone takes on their own roles, figuring out the pieces of the puzzle in their own way and then coming together to put all the pieces in place. It’s a good laugh and I would definitely do one again.’

Vicky: ‘It was funny how clues were woven into even the most unexpected objects. Beware though, there are some red herrings…’

Kim: ‘Most Wanted tests your initiative and lateral-thinking abilities. It was difficult to know where to start but once you’d solved the first couple of clues, the mystery began to unravel.’

So that’s it. Team 1, 34 coins and 1 minute and 34 seconds left on the clock. Team 2, 54 coins and six minutes to spare. Think you can do any better?
