WHEN the Alchemist opened in Spinningfields back in December 2010, Confidential editor Jonathan Schofield, described it as ‘a City of London type bar in Manchester’s City of London type area.’ And so begs the question, how will a second venue be received in Piccadilly?

That’s right, those delectable Maple Manhattans will soon be available on New York Street, Piccadilly. The new venue will be situated just on the corner of New York Street and Moseley Street and has come about due to increasing popularity at the Spinningfields site.

Tim Bacon, Managing Director of Living Ventures said: "We love the Alchemist and feel it will add nicely to another area of Manchester city centre and then hopefully beyond.

“New York Street has a lovely feel to it but perhaps lacks a ‘local’ so the Alchemist will hopefully fill the void. It should be open mid to late June."

But this isn’t just a cocktail bar. Open for morning coffee, lunch and dinner, every care is being taken, once again, to source the finest ingredients in order to create an all round positive experience for customers and with a large outdoor terrace there should be plenty of room for al-fresco dining in the summer months.
