IF summer seems to be passing you by in a blur, now is the time to slow down and start enjoying the longer evenings and warmer days. At Lunya, the award-winning tapas restaurant in Barton Arcade, they know how to make you feel like you're on holiday, even if you've not left your postcode. They've got the best of Spanish drinking in their charming little bar below the restaurant, with a fantastic selection of sangrias and a huge range of fine gins.

Lunya has one of the biggest Spanish gin bars outside of Spain with 19 gins currently on their list.

Sangria is the ultimate summer day cocktail. Refreshing and sweet, it's an easy-drinker that's perfect for sharing. At Lunya, they have three options: the traditional Sangria (red wine, brandy, orange and fruit) at £14.95 a jug; Cava Sangria (cava, triple sec, cranberry, lime) at £15.50 a jug, and White Wine Sangria (white wine, apple schnapps, triple sec, peach puree, passion fruit) at £14.95 a jug. The traditional and cava sangrias are available by the glass too, but where's the fun in that?

Another drink that's very popular in Spain nowadays is gin and tonic (and not just with the ex-pats on the Costas). After getting a taste for imported gin, the Spanish have started distilling their own, and are now producing some of the best gin in the world.

Lunya has one of the biggest Spanish gin bars outside of Spain with 19 gins currently on their list. All have subtly different flavours to savour, from the grape, eucalyptus and bay leaf of Nordes, to the blueberry and red tea of the Sikkim Bilberry gin from Madrid and Barcelona.

Book on one of Lunya's legendary gin-tasting nights, or buy a bottle to take home from their deli. And of course, you can stop by the bar for one of the finest G&Ts you'll find in Manchester. Lunya uses Fevertree tonic (free with a double), served in a large balloon glass over lots of ice, with a bespoke garnish. The serves are typically Spanish in size. It's £4.95 for a single, and £9 for a double.

Lunya's bar is open daily. In fact, it's probably open right now, if you're tempted.
