Finally, a date for the latest San Carlo opening
San Carlo Alderley Edge will open on Thursday 17 August.
The £3m renovation is located on London Road, close to Alderley Edge station, in the heart of the village. The transformation promises ‘a stunning transformation with an opulent, contemporary take on traditional Italian dining’. The interior of the restaurant was inspired by grand Milanese villas and gardens. The intention with the design is to create exciting ambience and sophistication.
There are 164-covers in a large dining area featuring a ‘Venetian-inspired’ patterned terrazzo floor. There’s also a terrace with retractable roof and a white interior pergola strung with Italian crystal pendant lights plus a bespoke open flame fireplace from Morocco. With the planting on the terrace the ambition is to create the feel of a genuine Italian garden restaurant.
For post-dinner and later night relaxation the bar will remain open later on Friday and Saturday nights with lounge music. Work is also underway on a first-floor private dining and event space which will match the look and feel of the downstairs in quality and attention to detail.

The overall at San Carlo Alderley Edge is marble, high gloss timber and brass softened by layered leather and patterned fabric upholstery. There are marble and timber tables, fluted oak bar stools with brass bases and green leather seats, elegant curved legged dining chairs and burnt orange leather and velvet banquette seating.
San Carlo Alderley Edge’s menu will include signature favourite Tagliolini Lobster but new summer dishes have been added.
These include Baccalà e Patate, salt cooked cod served with potato and Taggiasche Olives dressed with lemon oil; Insalata Finocchio and Formaggio Caprino, a fresh summer salad served with broad beans, fennel and goats cheese dressed with extra virgin olive oil and lime; Risotto Capesante e Piselli, Carnaroli rice risotto with garden peas, broad beans and cream, served with pan fried scallops and Grilled Lamb Cutlets marinated in sundried tomato and thyme.
There’s also going be a big pasta dish for two to share: Paccheri con coda di rospo e gamberi, large tube pasta served with San Marzano tomatoes, monkfish and prawns also makes an appearance on the new menu.
