GIVE your Valentine's outing a sublime soundtrack at this highly-anticipated show at Band on the Wall on Thursday 14 February.

Robin Guthrie, chief sound architect of Cocteau Twins, will headline with his intensely beautiful and iconic music. Mark Gardener from shoegazer band Ride will perform separately before joining The Robin Guthrie Trio for a very special final set. Support comes from Modern Painter's front man Daniel Land.

Building-ExteriorGuthrie's reverb-drenched guitar textures have been a huge influence on the story of alternative music since the early Eighties. Numerous acts have emulated his style, and several others including Felt, the Gun Club, the Veldt, Ian McCulloch, Lush, and Lift to Experience have enlisted his production skills.

Along with Cocteau Twins partner Simon Raymonde, Guthrie launched the Bella Union label – home to Fleet Foxes, M Ward and Flaming Lips, amongst others. His excellent solo albums include the much praised 2011 album Emeralds and recent instrumental release, Fortune.

Special guest Mark Gardener has established himself as a solo artist playing shows extensively around the world. Meanwhile, his production, mixing, collaboration and soundtrack work have included the soundtrack to award-winning film Upside Down (The Story Of Creation Records).

Support guest Daniel Land, from the critically-acclaimed The Modern Painters, creates a shoegaze-inspired ambient sound that is part minimal, part epic, and wholly engaging.

Band on the Wall's Picturehouse Cafe Bar will be open for food beforehand – why not start your night with a meal for two there? The Picturehouse does a two courses for £10 deal and if you book in advance, you're both given a free ticket for a future concert.
