PLY, an upcoming and highly anticipated Northern Quarter opening on Stevenson Square, is to hold a pizza-themed exhibition ahead of its official opening date (yet to be confirmed but looking like August).

The exhibition centres around pizza, and specifically 90 seconds due to PLY's new pizza oven taking just 90 seconds to bake a pizza to perfection.

Although the new bar from the team behind Kosmonaut on Tariff Street have not given Confidential a date for the opening, the venue are set to host the #PlyIn90Seconds exhibition from Thursday 7 August.

The exhibition centres around pizza, with the 90 second element due to PLY's new fancy pizza oven, which apparently takes only 90 seconds to bake the perfect pizza.

Wonder what pizza-fanatics Slice across the road would have to say about that?

PLY has commissioned seven artists to come up with a 90-second film for the exhibition using their own creative medium. Artists such as Will Broome, Kayla Mattes and Layla Sailor have incorporated everything from weaving to graphic design in their pieces.

The 90-second films will be shown on screens positioned above the arched windows on the ground floor space of PLY, as the rest of the site is still under construction.
