WHITECIRCLECREATIVE, one of the companies based at The Greenhouse, MediaCityUK, has designed and built the first outdoor bar at MediaCityUK.
Dock Bar is being managed and run by Fluid Bars and will be located on the MediaCityUK piazza besides the double-side outdoor screen. The bar will serve alcoholic and non-alcoholics drinks.
Should the sun shine then the bar can be used as a comfortable viewing area for the Olympics on the screen. There'll also be the 'Summer in the City’ events on the MediaCityUK piazza to keep people entertained.
WhiteCircle has utilised two 20ft shipping containers to form the Dock Bar structure, one being the main bar and serving area, and the other behind to form a store for deckchairs which will be out in abundance on sunny days.
Oddly, the arm of WhiteCircleCreative called WhiteCrate is behind the bar. WhiteCrate has one of the weirdest niche employment sectors of all specialising in the creative conversion of shipping containers.
The Dock Bar will open early week commencing 9 July.
