Contemporary Japanese dining at MUSU

A new Japanese dining experience is coming to Manchester.

MUSU is more than fine dining; it’s a total immersion into the very best of Japanese food culture. The name MUSU translates as ‘infinite possibilities’ and that is exactly what this restaurant will offer.

Chef Patron Michael Shaw presents a cutting edge interpretation of Japanese food that demonstrates precision, skill and the Eastern flavours that he loves. It’s a world away from his time at Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons and Richard Neat’s restaurant in Cannes and that’s what makes it so exciting. MUSU is a bold addition to Manchester’s food scene and one that is sure to be unmissable.

There is a new approach to the tasting menu that allows diners to fulfil their own wishes and create their own menu. The Sentaku offering is divided into five sections where guests follow their own preferences to create a stunning and personal taste of Japan.

Kaiseki is a carefully curated seven- or eleven-course set menu which brings together seasonal excellence and flavour with a modern Japanese sensibility.

The Omakase experience is the only true one of its kind outside London. The idea comes from trusting the chef to create your perfect menu for you and at MUSU you will be treated to a theatrical and educational sushi experience, served at our dedicated Omakase counter. All presided over by Head Sushi Chef, Andre Aguiar who learnt from a Japanese sushi master.

This is Japanese cuisine at its best, the clean, clear flavours coming from a dedication to sourcing the finest local and Japanese ingredients, from the Bluefin O-toro tuna to the A5 grade Wagyu beef.

Drinks share the creativity and quality that is central to MUSU. From the paired wines to the bar’s own signature cocktails, the premium sakes and whiskies, enjoy the complete MUSU experience in a restaurant of modern minimalist beauty.

This is what fine-dining tastes like today.
