Let’s Get Quizzical: Support local NHS staff with MFT

Sunday 5th July 8pm

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust Charity (MFT) is hosting an online quiz on Sunday 5th July to celebrate the NHS' 72nd Birthday and to raise money for the NHS.

The quizmaster will be TV and Radio Presenter Gavin Inskip and the night promises top prizes and special celebrity guests asking questions, including patron John Thomson and the ever-glamorous Linda Lusardi.

It costs just £5 to enter, and by taking part you will be supporting MFT's family of hospitals across central Manchester and Trafford.

Sam's Lockdown Pub Quiz

Sam George is running his own weekly lockdown pub quiz on Facebook.

It's very informal and easy to get involved. All you need to do is join the group and invite your friends and/or family to the virtual pub. Get a pen and paper (and booze) ready in time to watch the live stream at 8pm.

Chester Zoo have been allowed to open from Monday 15th June following their Save Our Zoo campaign. The campaign has been so succesful you may need to queue to get on the website. The zoo have asked people to bear with them while there is a high demand of people wishing to visit them. Please book your visit online before going even if you are a member.

United We Stream

United We Stream Greater Manchester

The Manchester-based free streaming site has featured regular live music and performances, broadcasting Greater Manchester’s vibrant culture around the world.

Greater Manchester’s night-time economy adviser Sacha Lord is looking at the future of the streaming service and how it can continue to support grassroots musicians and other artists.

All income from donations go directly to a relief fund, with 8% of funds raised donated to Nordoff Robbins Music Therapy Charity, 22% donated to the Mayor of Greater Manchester’s Charity, and 70% of all funding generated going specifically to support Greater Manchester's night-time economy, including music venues, restaurants, bars, freelancers and cultural organisations who are unable to work, or operate their businesses due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Donations to United We Stream can be made via the website, or by texting ‘MUSIC’ to 70140 to donate £5.

Manchester International Festival (MIF) was founded as the world’s first festival of original, new work and special events and is an artist-led event reflecting the spectrum of performing arts, visual arts and popular culture.

The festival’s free lockdown event series, MIF Live, has seen everything from archive shows to artist talks and brand new commissions.

Together In One Voice

Greater Manchester performed Together In One Voice on Thursday 28th May by singing songs led by around 20 different community choirs and 30 musicians from across the region.

Liam Gallagher, Mark Owen of Take That, James' Tim Booth, Emeli Sande, Mike Pickering from M People, Tom Walker, Denise Johnson, Liam Fray from The Courteeners and the city’s newest star Aitch, led the event.

The doorstep singalong was captured on the night with drones, street cameras and residents' own films that have been edited together afterwards. You can watch the final compilation on MIF Live's YouTube channel

Kendal-based husband and wife team, Aidan Monks & Catherine Connor want to bring their sourdough expertise to you with live educational content in this Facebook group.

The group's members are a mixed bag of budding bakers. The vibe is light-hearted, positive, nurturing with a sprinkle of motivational thoughts for your weekly bread baking. You can dive into the file area on the page which is full of helpful articles.

The content remains in the group permanently so you can dip in and out as needed as you navigate through your sourdough journey.
