NORTHERN Quarter stalwart, hangover hideout, and the non-alcoholic heart of indie Manchester, Koffee Pot, is being turfed out.

Should everything go to plan and not go to pot (thank you), the famous caff hope to reopen at their new premises by the end of January 2015.

Woah, woah, woah... calm down. Before you start wailing, this isn't the end for the historic greasy spoon on Stevenson Square. They're simply on the move.

As Confidential said back in January 2013, 'it's hard to imagine Manchester without the place'. Luckily we won't have to, as Koffee Pot ups sticks and trots round the corner to the former Ryan Vintage unit at 84/86 Oldham Street (next door to V Revolution).

According to paperwork lodged with the council, Koffee Pot - favourites of creative-types in rounded spectacles, Manchester band Elbow and Rio Ferdinand - are being 'forced to vacate their current premises at Christmas' by building owners Hatters Hostel.

However, should everything go to plan and not go to pot (thank you), the famous caff - reopened and reimagined in 2006 - hope to reopen at their new premises by the end of January 2015.

Further plans to be submitted in the new year will see Koffee Pot look to expand in their new space.

Ideally, Koffee Pot would stay put. But setting nostalgia aside, this could actually prove to be a good move for one of Manchester's finest brekkie spots. Koffee Pot is great, but has always been hindered by its lack of bum space. Weekend mornings are 50/50 whether you'll get a seat at all. Retain that boho greasy spoon chic, sling a few more seats in and the move is fine and dandy by us.

Fingers (or legs) crossed, they may even stick a toilet in this time...
