The viral banana pudding spot is wrapping up its General Store residency to prepare for its first standalone site this autumn
Viral dessert spot Buttercup Pudding Bar has announced that it will be opening its first standalone site in Manchester this autumn.
Following on from a highly successful nine-month residency at Deansgate General Store, the next chapter will see the beloved brand continue serving homemade banana pudding with a variety of toppings on a larger scale. Since launching, Buttercup has served around 50,000 puddings, hosted sell-out pop-ups across the city and built a loyal following around its signature build-your-own pudding bar residency at General Store - growing a community of over 10,000 followers across socials.
Fans of the brand have until this Bank Holiday Monday (31 August) to catch Buttercup at their General Store location ahead of the grand opening this autumn.
Buttercup founder, Natasha Black, said: "This feels like the perfect step for Buttercup. It's been such a pleasure to call General Store home for the past nine months, and I'm so grateful to the team there for helping us grow into what we are today. But as we continue to grow, now feels like the right time for us to step out on our own. I can't wait for people to see what we've been working on and bring Buttercup to life in our own place!”
From opening day, Buttercup is promising its loyal fans brand new pudding flavours and a refreshed toppings selection - including cookie dough bites and brownies - alongside returning firm favourites. A new drinks menu is also in the works, while rotating specials will continue to bring new flavours and toppings to the counter throughout the year.
The new site will also see Buttercup continue its collaborations with some of the city’s best loved food brands and operators. The latest saw Buttercup team up with Manchester’s NYC slice phenomenon, Nell’s, to give its Sticky Cornflake & Raspberry pudding a frozen makeover, transforming the flavour into a limited-edition sell out gelato.
