Hot-footing it to the boozer only to be told you’re 23 seconds too late for Happy Hour, and that drink will now cost you £9.50 thank you very much.
Bugger.
But one new Manchester bar has a solution – start your own Happy Hour when you ruddy well feel like it (well, as long as it’s before 10pm from Sunday to Thursday).
Be At One in Barton Arcade is making sure you never miss a cheap round again through its Appi Hour app, which allows you, the punter, to begin Happy Hour on your arrival.
How about that eh?
What’s more, if any of the bartenders forget to tell you about the Be At One app when you place your order throughout April, they’ll give you a free round of cocktails on the house (well, as long as they forget between 7pm and 11pm from Monday to Friday).
Oh, and another thing. Throughout this month the bar are running ‘Appi April’, in which the app’s random cocktail generator will select a different cocktail every Friday this month, the first twenty of which will be given away free (from opening time to 10pm). The cocktail will thereupon cost a mere £5.
More than 170,000 people have already downloaded the Be At One app, and they’re chuffed to bits.
“We have an award winning App and really strong offering in Appi Hour and we want to make sure all our customers are able to tap into our great prices and offers,” said co-founder Steve Locke. “The App is our way of saying thank you to our guests and to give them an opportunity to broaden their tastes by picking from more than 150 incredible cocktails.”
