Launching 24 April, this showcase certainly has Confidential’s stamp of approval
WHEN Confidential recently previewed Per Tutti’s new spring menu, we were mightily impressed. This Liverpool Road gem never disappoints but its latest creation is quite possibly our favourite yet.
Bursting with colourful fresh flavours, the spring showcase begins with starters like king prawn skewers - accompanied by cool cucumber, offset with the heat of chilli and a drizzle of lime. Also demonstrating spot-on seasoning are crab cakes with a cheeky dash of tomato salsa and a sprinkling of fresh dill.
Possibly our favourite starter (and believe us, it was a tough choice) is home-cured duck. Slightly smoky, with just the right amount of salt, this is complemented by chicory, sweet cherry and tangy orange. The result is a harmony of texture and taste.
Mains rose to the same high standard, again displaying an attention to detail which made each dish sparkle. Pan-fried sea bass is perfectly crisped, with fresh salty clams and broccoli. And duck breast is enhanced by juicy peaches and lovely crisp polenta; a refreshing change to the more typical carbs like rice or potatoes.
Again it was a hard decision but slow-cooked lamb just pipped its fellow mains to the post for us. Melt-in-the-mouth tender, it comes on a bed of giant cous cous with bursts of refreshing pomegranate and salted yoghurt. A taste sensation.
The two desserts we sampled rounded off our meal with aplomb: creamy panna cotta was as vibrant on the palate as on the eyes, while deconstructed black forest gateau also lived up to its supermodel appearance. Think brownie chunks with tart cherry ice cream.
If there’s a better way to treat your taste buds, none springs to mind, so celebrate the arrival of sunnier seasons at Per Tutti.
The new menu launches officially on 24 April and will run through until Autumn.
