SPINNINGFIELDS culinary overhaul marches on.

The interior has been delivered by designer Edwin Pickett, the man behind Spinningfields' papparazzi-happy venue, Neighbourhood.

Fresh off the back of The Avenue's metamorphosis from luxury retail boneyard to thriving restaurant boulevard following the arrival of Grand Pacific, Wahu, Thaikhun, Fazenda, Iberica and the soon-to-arrive London-based Lebanese outfit, Comptoir Libanais; coupled with the rumblings down on Left Bank which will see The Dockyard, Scene Indian, David Gale and Spinningfields Kitchens all launch this year, Spinningfields is now poised to unveil yet another food and drink offering.

Tattu, a new body art-themed Asian bar and restaurant from brothers Adam and Drew Jones, will open fully on Gartside Street, Spinningfields, on Saturday 9 May, with soft launches from Monday 27 April to Wednesday 6 May (sign up here).

According to the brothers, the new restaurant - 'inspired by the strong conceptual restaurants found on America's west coast' - will take customers on a 'visual journey across three separate areas, each drawing decorative influence from different styles of body art.'

The menu will slant heavily towards the Orient and has been created by celebrated London-based Pan-Asian chef Andrew Lassater, who has overseen multiple big-money operations in the capital.

Delivering Lassater's menu will be a kitchen brigade (including a head dim sum chef) poached from a multitude of London's most revered Asian restaurants, including the Michelin-starred Hakkasan group, HKK, Yauatcha and Sake No Hana.

The interior has been delivered by designer Edwin Pickett, the man behind Spinningfields' papparazzi-happy venue, Neighbourhood.

During their soft launch, Tattu will be offering a small number of customers a 50% discount on all food - register here.

Tattu opens to the public on Saturday 9 May.
