SCANDANAVIAN-inspired restaurant/café KuPP look set to join the Corn Exchange melange after submitting a licence application to Manchester City Council.

The Corn Exchange reopened as an all-food destination in August 2015 following a £30m renovation

Owned by London-based pub and bar operators, Faucet Inns, KuPP is a new ‘casual, all day, food & drink concept’ established last year in London’s Paddington Basin, with plans for a UK rollout starting in Manchester, as well as sites in Oslo and Helsinki.

According to the Kupp website, Faucet Inn’s Scandophile MD, Steve Cox, wished to 'embrace Scandinavian design & the greatness of Scandinavian cuisine' following a decade of trips to the region.

As you’d expect from a Skandi-themed caf’, there’s a strong focus on coffee, with a breakfast to dinner menu including pastries, topless ‘Scandwiches’ (that means no lid) and dishes such as Sauteed Crispy Potato & Chorizo (£9.50), Atlantic Prawn Skagen (£7) and House Smoked Pork Meatballs (£7).

The Corn Exchange reopened as an all-food destination in August 2015 following a £30m renovation by Aviva Investors and Queenberry Real Estate, and has since become home to a number of fast-casual restaurant chains including Wahaca, Pho and Vapiano.

Confidential is awaiting a reply from Faucet Inns on plans for the new Manchester venue.
