THERE'S a new restaurant in Spinningfields and it isn't by Living Ventures of Australasia, Alchemist and Oast House fame.
It’s my second venture and will be a totally new dining experience for Manchester and I am looking forward to opening the doors later this year
Neighbourhood will be the first new restaurant to open on Avenue North later this year.
The brainchild of James Hitchen, the man who created Southern Eleven, also at Spinningfields, Neighbourhood, will be 'a New York style all-day eatery'.
Apparently Neighbourhood takes its inspiration from 'iconic New York restaurants and bars including The Standard Grill and STK'.
The restaurant will have 200 covers and be designed Cheshire company Innex Design.
James Hitchen says: “Following on the success of Southern Eleven at Spinningfields, I am thrilled to be opening Neighbourhood on Avenue North. It’s my second venture and will be a totally new dining experience for Manchester and I am looking forward to opening the doors later this year.”
Brave words. Is there such a thing as a 'totally new dining experience'? At least Hitchen has form, at Confidential we think Southern Eleven is a cracking diner-style eatery.
The restaurant will be sited in Tower 12, formerly Manchester House - the building might be more familiar as hosting Waitrose with an entrance on Bridge Street.
