GUERRILLA Eats - the first Manc rabble to pick up on the potential of London's humming street food scene and carry it back up the M40 back in 2012 - will launch their sixth (maybe seventh... ninth... whatever) series of street food events on Saturday 14 March... and they've found a new friend.

'The Wonder Inn' will be a new organic cafe and wellness centre (yoga'n'that) making use of the building during the week when the Guerrillas are sleeping it off.

The new twelve week run will play-out indoors every Saturday night from 5pm until midnight and occupy a three-floor Grade II-listed former warehouse at 29 Shudehill (some of which dates from 1810 - when burgers were still called cow-flaties).

"As a pop-up we're always on the lookout for new spaces, as logistically challenging as it may be," Guerrilla founder Scott Power told us. "It’s like moving house, but if your house was a big old stately home or something - you have no idea how much stuff we've accumulated."

The Guerrillas have brought in a good number of the usual suspects that made the last stint at Ancoats Fairbairn Building such a hit, including: Big Grillie Style, Dirty Food Revolution, Yakumama, Cow Boys, Dirty Dogs, Mumma Schnitzel, Rudy’s Neapolitan Pizza, Fat Annies and Love From The Streets.

Following rave reviews during the last run, Bangers & Bacon's Chef's Table will also make a comeback, and there'll be a number of reserved 'incubator' positions for new start-ups who excel at the Guerrilla's 'Street Food Starter Course' ran in association with Cook Manchester.

The eagled-eyed and keen-toed amongst you may have noticed new budget cardboard signage (procured from Fred Aldous for £1.99 each, by the way) go up on the building's frontage in recent weeks - 'The Wonder Inn' will be a new organic cafe and wellness centre (yoga'n'that) making use of the building during the week while the Guerrillas sleep it off.

"The Wonder Inn guys are a community interest company and really good people," Power tells us. "We came in to help them raise funds to turn the building around for an organic cafe, yoga studios, a space for live music, kids arts space and so on... now we've all somehow found ourselves on the non-executive board for the project."

Guerrilla Eats will run for twelve weeks from Saturday 14 March (if they sort the licence out this time around) at 29 Shudehill. FREE entry.
