MUSIC motivates. That’s why so many of us just wouldn’t be able to get through a treadmill run without some up-tempo songs to make us go harder, faster, stronger.

But when was the last time you changed your playlist? Just as it’s important to mix up your exercise routines, variety of playlists will also help keep it moving, so to speak.

Shazam, the music identification service, has this week released its 2013 workout playlist ‘so you can keep fit to brand new beats while getting ahead of the crowd with your music knowledge.’

Now let’s see if they can compete with ‘Eye Of The Tiger’...

Shazam’s 2013 Workout Playlist:

1. Chvrches – The Mother We Share (Slightly slow paced but uplifting, good track to start off your training regime)

2. Julio Bashmore – Au Seve (He co-produced ‘Running’ for Jessie Ware, but it’s his own track that’s helped us in the gym)

3. HAIM – Don’t Save Me (Upbeat West-coast Indie from the hotly tipped band of sisters, also features a Basketball gym sessions in the video. Get inspired!)

4. Ruby Goe – Badman (Inspiring track from the emerging rapper)

5. Scuba – Hardbody (A rather apt title on this track, currently trending in our UK chart)

6. Todd Terje - Inspector Norse (A huge track that doesn’t stop building, perfect when you need to dig deep)

7. The xx – Chained (John Talabot & Pional Blinded Remix) (Slow burning remix, from John Talabot. Good for long distance runs)

8. TNGHT – Higher Ground. (Perfect for that last gasp of energy on an uphill run!)

9. Skrillex & Damian “Jr Gong” Marley – Make It Bun Dem (Ridiculously powerful bass, one for those hitting the weight machines).

10. Radiohead - 15 Step (Great for the treadmill, pounding drums and hypnotic melody)
