The Happy Mondays star plans to help himself and viewers ‘get fit and mentally happier’
It’s been a while since Bez shook his famed maracas…in fact the Madchester maven spent most of 2020 sat on the sofa, a far cry from his freaky dancing days in rock band Happy Mondays.
“I’ve started this new year seriously unfit, with a fat belly and creaky hips, and I can’t stop eating chocolate. Last lockdown I got unfit, fat, lazy and into some seriously bad eating habits,” he told The Sun.
Ditch the Joe Wicks and make it Madchester 😂 Drills, Chills and Bellylaughs. Bez has decided he’s going to make 2021 his year of fitness/mindfulness. Check out Spoke Tv on YouTube to follow his journey 👊 pic.twitter.com/v4xiba34O0

Now Bez has decided to ‘sort it out sharpish’ with a new namesake fitness series. Streamed on YouTube, Get Buzzin’ With Bez aims to ‘help himself and the public get fit and mentally happier’ - with its slightly bonkers protagonist promising to be ‘somewhere between Joe Wicks and Mr Motivator.'
Bez, who has enlisted a personal trainer for his new venture, normally burns calories by dancing at live gigs - but COVID cancellations have left him unable even to fit into his ‘special Christmas pants.’
The star, whose various pursuits span winning Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 to standing against Labour MP Rebecca Long-Bailey in Salford for his own anti-fracking ‘We are the Reality’ party in 2015 (he came sixth), said people can join him “on this mad journey or just sit on the sofa and have a good laugh at me.”
Get Buzzing with Bez launches on Sunday 17th January on YouTube.
