Mennace will offer a 'Delboy meets street’ style upon its September launch

Missguided CEO and online fashion kingpin Nitin Passi will launch brand new menswear line, Mennace, this month.

From Sunday 17 September, the youth-driven Manchester-based online fashion store will be offering trend-led and premium men’s clothing at accessible price points.

If Missguided epitomises today’s young and fashion conscious woman then Mennace is her man: a cool urban scenester into popular music and the latest in street wear.

“There’s clothing for any man looking for something a little different, but relevant to current trends and shapes,” says a Mennace spokesperson.

“For the launch we’ve pulled together pastel tones and utility fabrics from the New Nomads trend, along with socially relevant punk trends, 90s twists and what we like to call “Delboy meets street” for a tongue-in-cheek element.”

A ‘Delboy meets street’ style will include oversized checker board t-shirts, light wash denim jackets, grey marl joggers and sweatshirts, plus slogan shirts for a sport luxe feel.

"As a men’s clothing range, we wanted to be the first to market with innovation"

Mennace will become the brother brand to Trafford Park-based Missguided - launched a decade ago by Passi and now boasting revenues topping £206 million this year.

While the online fast-fashion market is a largely female driven enterprise - dominated by Manchester-made companies such as Boohoo, Pretty Little Thing and In The Style - it’s now an oversaturated market and menswear is one avenue that had previously been overlooked.

And it’s a timely launch for Mennace, as current research suggests men are spending more on online clothes shopping than ever before. Market researchers Verdict announced the UK menswear market was forecast to grow by 25.7 per cent by 2019, 'outperforming all other clothing sectors'.

“As a mens clothing range, we wanted to be the first to market with innovation. We believe strongly in our brand ethos and see a huge opportunity in the menswear market,” said the spokesperson.

Upon launch, Mennace will join the likes of online retail giants BoohooMAN and ASOS menswear - but will it prove to be as popular?
