'After four years of planning, Manchester's largest wine dispensing business is about to open its doors - launched by a husband and wife team.
'On 18 August, British Airways pilot Jon and and former First Class stewardess Sara Saunby are bringing art wine appreciation to Manchester with the launch of Salut Wines on Cooper Street.
'At the heart of this independent, up-market wine bar and wine merchants will be the city’s largest installation of Enomatic machines (something like the instrument shown at the top of this page); a wine preservation and dispensing system which has already proved extremely popular across Europe.
'With 32 wines in the machines and a further 10 wines sold by the glass guests will be able to enjoy 42 different wines by the glass. Customers can opt to buy a 50ml sample of any wine sold by the glass before choosing to buy a glass or a full bottle to drink on the premises or take home. There will be a further 200 wines on the shelves and a fine wine cabinet, along with five tapas style plates of food.
'Stephen Rosser, an Approved Programme Provider, will be running Wine and Spirit Education Trust levels 2 and 3 on Monday and Tuesday nights, and there will be other less formal masterclasses scheduled throughout the year.
'Sara Saunby, who lives at Salford Quays, will be responsible for the day-to-day running of Salut Wines.'
