LED by the poet and newly elected chancellor of The University of Manchester, Lemn Sissay, 'The Christmas Dinner 2015' is a collective of volunteers, adult careleavers and social care professionals working together to provide a Christmas Day Dinner to remember for care leavers between the ages of 16 and 30.

Christmas can be a very lonely time of year, but since a successful Crowdfunding project in 2013 and campaign by high-profile figures including BBC 6 Music's Mary Ann Hobbs, The Christmas Dinner team have been successfully fundraising to provide a 'scrumptious Christmas day meal' and turn the day into one of happy memories and camaraderie for those who might otherwise be without friends or family on Christmas Day.
This year the team need to raise £30,000 to provide the same level of magic for care leavers at locations in Manchester, Leeds and Hackney and to support the possibility of further events around the UK.
Of course, it can't be done without your support. So here's the skinny...
Pledge £10 and you'll get a tingly glow of satisfaction, knowing you've done the right thing. Pledge £25 and get a thank you tweet direct from Lemn Sissay himself. Pledge £50 and you'll get a Christmas card and so on and so forth until you get to £5000, where Lemn Sissay will visit you and your company anywhere in the UK and deliver a funny, inventive and moving motivational speech. He'll likely crack out a poem or two too.

Or perhaps you'd rather volunteer? There are, of course, presents to be wrapped, potatoes to be peeled and any help on the big day itself will be greatly appriciated. You can get in touch by emailing mcrcd15@gmail.com for Manchester, TCDLeeds@gmail.com for Leeds or by visiting here for Hackney.
If you’re a care experienced young person, or know someone who is, you can be nominated to attend on the day. For a copy of the guest referral form, please contact Sarah at Pure Insight on info@pure-insight.org.uk or call 07595089787.
