Leeds will be able to enjoy a permanent ray of Spanish sunshine when Ibérica opens the doors to its new restaurant in Hepper House, East Parade, on Friday 15 April.
The building, a Grade II listed beauty, has been sensitively refurbished to create an inviting Spanish atmosphere whilst still retaining all the character of the former auction house.
The new restaurant offers 123 covers over two floors; the main restaurant is on the ground floor, positioned underneath an incredible lightwell whereas the deli, with its own wine bar and seating area, is located in the basement. There is also a cocktail bar next to the main restaurant offering diners the chance to sit at the bar and enjoy a range of pinchos and tapas throughout the night.
There is a strong focus on seasonal produce in the new menu which has been created by Executive Chef, Nacho Manzano. Sprign sees the return of Ibérica favourites such as
Cachopo – a heavenly patty of fried beef and Ibérico pork belly, filled with Asturian cheeses and mushrooms – and Butifarra with Trinxat Catalan which is a Catalonian sausage served with mashed potato, cabbage and pancetta.
Other unmissable dishes on the new menu include pork belly steamed bao and Pork belly steamed bao and cod club ranero with its moreish spicy Basque sauce.
The menu will also include the classic dishes Ibérica has become renowned for, with the asparagus, manchego, onion confit and truffle oil toast, Ibérica’s Serrano ham croquettes, its fried chorizo lollipops with pear alioli sauce and its traditional and freshly made paellas all firm favourites.
Prior to its official opening, there will be a week-long soft launch, beginning on Friday 8 April where people can come and 3 complimentary tapas and 1 free drink per person.
