IT maybe still cold and crisp outside, but there's certainly lots of inspiration around and something to suit everyone this spring/summer. What do you think of these new trends? Will you be trying them?

Oriental

One of the biggest trends for spring/summer 2013 is ‘Oriental’. Prada took inspiration from Japan and the satin kimono wrap is indeed this season's modern alternative to the summer jacket with its clean lines and lavish fabrics. It’s a bold look; the colours are bright and adventurous, but there are some interesting elements to take inspiration from.

Labour Of Love Kimono Style Coat

Kimono Jacket from Labour of Love £199.50

This kimono jacket from Labour of Love is trend aware but in a toned down colour way. The self tie belt will emphasise your waist. An added bonus is that this jacket is reversible. An accessory such as this beautiful turquoise pendant by LK Designs can be added to an existing outfit to give a nod to the trend without going full hog. Keep the rest of your look sleek with a flat front trouser and a nude pointed heel.

Monochrome

Typically a winter trend, this is a timeless and elegant look so keep everything tailored and streamlined.  Perfect for those with a boyish figure, you can nail two trends in one with this jacket from Calvin Klein Suit Separates.

Calvin Klein Stripe Belted Jacket

Belted jacket from Calvin Klein £61

The belt gently nips you in at the waist and the on-trend stripe pattern and clean-front design is very figure flattering. Accessorise with pearls and always add a dramatic pair of sunnies - these DVF monochrome ones are perfect. Keep it fresh by mixing in an interesting colour with your bag. This Paul's Boutique quilted bag is very Chanel like.

Sixties

The 60s look is back with a bang this spring/summer. Hemlines are higher and prints are zanier. On the catwalks there were A-line mini dresses in black and white, daisy-covered dresses and geometric prints too. Very Mary Quant! We saw pop art from Marc Jacobs and futuristic mod at Moschino.

Look out for A-line shifts, graphic checks, patent Mary Janes and delicate motifs worked in bright colours. If this look is a bit too full on though, why not try a shift dress but colour block it? Another big trend. With its vivid, sunshine tone, this bright-yellow Lola dress by Goat will inject a splash of confident colour into your fashion repertoire.

Kate Maconie Abigail Silk Platforms

Abigail heels by Kate Maconie £230

A fine example of the chic label’s approach to tactile subtle luxury. Add a statement shoe such as these delightfully feminine but incredibly fashionable Kate Maconie heels. Floral is another big trend for spring summer 2013. Keep the rest of your look simple with a ladylike frame bag and a statement cocktail ring.

Bomber

One of the more wearable looks from the catwalk this season is the bomber jacket. This is a key piece to snap up to make the transition from Winter to Spring. Loewe showed us some beautiful jackets embossed with roses and birds. This season the silhouette is oversized and the look is sleek yet sophisticated. Choose a size larger to work this look. Invest in this statement bomber jacket from Clover Canyon. Its graphic-print design is guaranteed to energize every outfit. This lightweight crepe de chine style is perfect to take you through spring and into the warmer months.

Clover Canyon Printed Silk Bomber Jacket

Printed bomber jacket from Clover Canyon £260

This look is great if you are a pear shaped as it draws the eye upwards. Just be careful it doesn't finish at your widest point. Clash it up with with a striped tank. Add another trend in a striking pair of Nineties tye die jeans like these 2nd Day Sally pair from Black White Denim. I also love these peep toe nude heels from Topshop with perspex heels. Finally inject some fun in to the finished look with these cheap bright green specs.

Nineties

If you were a 90s child you may not want to revisit this trend at all! However Marc Jacobs is definitely a fan. His resort collection took 90s fashion, Nirvana cool and added a luxe vibe while Dries Van Noten went plaid crazy. Philip Lim gave us slogan T-shirts and crop tops. If you want to pay homage to 90s fashion, do it with this grunge ditsy ruffle hem dress, fabricated from A-lined mini floral sheer chiffon. Finally, add a 90s essential item - the biker jacket, and team with some fierce jewellery.
