Manchester's new woodland attraction has confirmed it will open on 27 May - just in time for half term

Back in December 2015, we announced council plans for a new treetop attraction in Heaton Park. Four months later, an operator was found and construction on the aerial adventure got underway. Now, it’s finally time to release your inner Tarzan as Treetop Nets have confirmed they will be opening up this month.

Launching 27 May - just in time for half term and bank holiday - the unique seven-acre woodland attraction is one of only four sites of its kind throughout the UK. Visitors can navigate giant trampolines, walkways, slides and tunnels; all made from ‘super bouncy netting’ suspended up to 40ft off the ground. And yes, there’s a treehouse too.

More than 120km of ropes were used for the lofty venture, enough to wrap around the M60 twice over. And, not wanting to scrimp on quality, Treetop Nets, it says here, even enlisted a team of former French fishermen (why French?) to construct the netting by hand. Fully encasing the canopy course, this will allow users to jump, bounce, tumble, climb and slide completely harness-free.

Treetop Nets’ award-winning sister company, Treetop Trek, is also set to open in June - completing the attraction and making it the largest of its kind in Britain. Alongside more than 20 zip wires, it will feature the longest belay (assisted rope climbing) courses in Europe.

With over over 25 years’ experience in building some of the UK’s most popular family high rope courses, Treetop Trek promises an ‘invigorating alternative day out for families’ and friends and caters for woodland wanderers as young as three. It will be situated to the north west of the park, close to the Stables Café.

Two hours at Treetop Nets start at £13 per person - find out more at www.treetopnets.co.uk
