We capture their char grill dishes in all their sizzling glory
EASTZEAST Riverside knows its meat. This is a restaurant that established its own butchers (just down the road in Crumpsall) to process its locally-sourced lamb and chicken, rather than compromise with a middle man. So perhaps it's no wonder its grill menu has a longstanding reputation as one of the best around.
The aroma of their homemade marinades and the sizzle as the meat arrives at your table makes for head-turning dishes. Options include lamb chops shashlik, chicken steak, half tandoori chicken, jhinga king prawns, sea bass steak, and salmon steak, amongst others. Or go for the mixed grill if you can't decide between them. It features lamb chops, seekh kebabs, chicken wings and chicken tikki boti.
Their chefs deliver that classic char grill flavour that's very hard to replicate in a home oven. Meat is lightly charred on the outside, and juicy in the middle. The thick marinade elevates rather than smothers it. And the scattering of fresh herbs sets it off perfectly.
The sides are just as flavoursome. All their grill dishes come with baby roast potatoes and salad, or vegetable pilau rice, making them a complete meal. (And a relatively healthy one, too). Pair it with a full-bodied red wine like their Faustino Rivero Crianza rioja. It's a winning combination.
