TENS of thousands of people lined the streets of Manchester city centre on Sunday 14 June to celebrate Manchester Day 2015.
It makes you so proud to see the city celebrated like this
The sixth annual celebration saw over 2,500 performers, percussionists, politicians, aliens, Dalmatians and giant robot things weave their way along Deansgate, past Great Northern Square, Albert Square, down New Cathedral Street and finally into Exchange Square where huge crowds greeted the parade.
Cllr Pat Karney, Chair of Manchester Day, said: “Remarkable. Even after six years each parade is better than the previous celebration. Each year I think we can’t top what we’ve seen and every year there is something new and simply jaw dropping.
"Manchester Day is the perfect celebration for bringing everyone in this great city together. It breaks down any generational barriers as people of all ages get involved. That spirit of warmth and friendship is something Mancunians can be proud of."
He added in his trademark hyperbole: “Today Manchester has been transformed. We have equalled, if not bettered, anything Rio could have produced. It makes you so proud to see the city celebrated like this – a day that will be remembered for the rest of our lives.”
If you didn't get chance to catch the parade, worry not, because we've got all the best snaps from the day right here...
