IT'S BEEN a heady few years when it comes to edible trends.
Mixologists, pop-ups, tiki, Americana, craft beer, 'street', tiki, sharing plates, wine bars, bacon, bacon, bacon.
XOLO offers a potent selection of tequilas, margaritas, tropical fruits and sharers like the Zombita or the Tijuana Sangria - tequila mixed with red wine. Sound idea.
No sooner are you dropping a pulled-pork torpedo chased down by a Zombie cocktail before someone tells you it's all about pulled chicken now and you should actually be seeing off a Camden Hells.
Good fun though eh, keeps us on our toes, or off 'em when it comes to the next trend, tequila.
XOLO, the latest venture from the Black Dog lot (Black Dog Ballroom, DogBowl, Cane & Grain and Liars Club) has moved in to the former Underdog space beneath Black Dog on New Wakefield Street and tapped straight into consumer's rising interest in everything agave.
XOLO offers a potent selection of tequilas, margaritas, tropical fruits and sharers like the Zombita or the Tijuana Sangria - tequila mixed with red wine. Sound idea.
Not doing things by 'alf, XOLO has also been splashed about with multiple features paying homage to the popular Mexcian 'Day of the Dead' holiday and the tradition of the sugar skull - a national celebration of the dead and an excuse to drink tequila until you forget where you left your donkey.
Xolo will be open Monday to Thursday and Saturday 8pm til 4am, Friday 5pm til 4am @XoloMCR
Here's the launch and some faces...
