SHE recently described herself as a ‘modern feminist’ and her new tour costumes would suggest she believes in taking control of her sexuality in any medium she sees fit. Faux erect nipple suits as standard.
The singer began her Mrs Carter world tour in Serbia this week and it was this one costume in particular that raised a few eyebrows. The boob and nipple-enhancing, gold sequin-encrusted bodysuit morphed her into a sort of sexy C-3P0, if you will.
Other outfits included a more modest black and purple catsuit, slashed almost to the navel, and a flowing red dress with thigh-high slits.
New York based fashion label, the Blonds, is responsible for the boob suit creation. While Emilio Pucci creative director Peter Dundas and Dsquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten, and Ralph and Russo are all also believed to have designed pieces for Beyonce's extensive tour wardrobe.
The boob suit certainly harks back to Madonna’s iconic Jean Paul Gaultier cone boob days. But we’re not sure the blinged out, tromp l’oeil body part design is as flattering.
