CASTLEFIELD's most popular bar, Dukes 92, is set to undergo a three month £1m refurbishment to mark its 25th anniversary next year.
A new 50ft long main bar will become the focal point
Designed by Manchester interior design firm, Space Invader, the 6000 sq ft former canal stable block will be stripped back to its bricks and 'softened with hotel lobby style furniture'... sofas then.
A new 50ft long main bar will become the focal point, while their will be a greater focus on the grub - not Duke's strongest attribute in the past - with a new menu from Rebecca Bardsley, the Executive Chef at adjoining sister restaurant, Albert's Shed.
James Ramsbottom, Managing Director of Dukes 92 and Alberts Restaurants said: “This project is the culmination of twelve months of careful planning.
"We are fortunate to have a fantastic building in an amazing location and this has made Dukes 92 into one of Manchester’s top destination bars. To continue this success it’s crucial we create a space that works just as well for laid-back lunches as it does on Saturday nights when there will be a DJ to entertain the weekend crowd.
"I’m very excited about the transformation and looking forward to revealing our new look in the spring.”
A temporary tipi will become home to Dukes 92 for three months from 2 January.
