JOINING forces with drinks distributor Mangrove, one of our favourite award-winning Italian eateries is really putting the spirit into Christmas spirit – the mixologists at Manchester’s oldest independent Italian Don Giovanni have been busily creating a very special cocktail menu for a very merry Christmas!
Last but not least comes The Tiramisu, for those who fancy taking their dessert in a coupette. We were practically rolled home…
For starters, the Berry Merry Christmas is a twist on the blackberry-laced Bramble, with Stoli vodka, Cassis liqueur, Prosecco and fresh lemon, plus cinnamon sugar to give it that moreish, festive sweetness – great as an aperitivo!
For the Naughty Or Spice, the elegant French 75 fizz cocktail gets the seasonal treatment with the addition of Don Giovanni’s own homemade mincemeat syrup. Riffing on the classic Old Fashioned, meanwhile, the Jingle Juice keeps Woodford Reserve as the base then chucks in Christmas bitters, apricot liqueur and a burnt rosemary garnish – perfect for complementing your roast dinner.
Last but not least comes The Tiramisu, for those who fancy taking their dessert in a coupette. Mixing fresh hot espresso, mascarpone, Don’s favourite Italian coffee liqueur Caffè Borghetti, plus sweet sherry and Mozart chocolate liqueurs, this has dessert and digestivo covered. And to help you work that Christmas spirit vibe even more, Don Giovanni has live music for you to enjoy listening and even dancing to every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout December. Saxophonist Alvin brings a smooth mix of funk, soul and jazz to the table, local talent from operatic societies to big-name DJs (already HomoElectric’s Jamie Bull and The Haçienda’s DJ Paulette) as well as classic disco numbers from resident DJ Kiddo.
