SALE SHARKS is about to announce a deal that will see them leave Edgeley Park, Stockport, in favour of a groundshare with Salford City Reds in their new Barton stadium.

The rugby union club is expected to announce the move to the 12,000 capacity Salford City Stadium at a news conference today.

The Sharks only moved to Edgeley Park from their original home at Heywood Road in 2003, but crowds at The Reds' new £26m stadium have been short of expectations so far this season – averaging around 6,000 per game.

“Obviously when you don't win in 19 games it's hard to take."

It could be a busy day for Sharks owner Brian Kennedy, who has also been heavily linked with a takeover bid for Glasgow Rangers before today’s 5pm deadline.

Oldham Athletic’s season continues to stumble to an end as they lost their third game in a row at Brentford last night – Marcus Bean and Niall McGinn giving the home side a comfortable victory.

Latic's night was made worse when striker Chris Taylor was stretchered off midway through the second half with a serious leg injury.

However, Oldham fans did have something to smile about yesterday, as the club confirmed that Man United’s England Under-20 international, Reece Brown, has extended his loan deal with the club until the end of the season.

Macclesfield midfielder Ross Draper says he is ready for The Silkmen’s battle for Football League survival after making his first appearance in three months.

The 23-year-old has been out with an ankle injury, but came on during the second half of Macclesfield’s 2-0 defeat to Gillingham on Saturday, to extend Mac’s run of games without a win to 19.

He told BBC Radio Manchester: “Obviously when you don't win in 19 games it's hard to take. But we're doing what we can to try and get out of it. It's no good feeling sorry for ourselves.”

Lancashire Head Coach Peter Moores is hoping Pakistan seam bowler Junaid Khan can return for this year’s twenty twenty competition.

The 22-year-old helped Lancashire to the last four in 2011, but didn’t play in their semi-final defeat to Leicestershire.

Moores told BBC Radio Lancashire: "He's quite an emotional player. When he connects to the game and he catches fire, like we saw at places like Northampton (where he took 2-12 in four overs), he can turn it on its head.”

And finally, Joleon Lesscott has confirmed he is fit and ready for City’s game against Arsenal on Sunday following a groin injury.

The defender tweeted: “I’m defo fit now been back training 4/5 days now, so I will be available for section on the weekend.”

City have dropped points against Stoke, Swansea and Sunderland in his absence.
