FORGET freezing off your fingers at the markets or falling on your butt at the open air ice rink, and head round the corner to the warm and wacky Junkyard Golf Club for some proper festive fun with a difference.
Crazy golf meets circus freaks with three mashed-up nine-hole courses created from reclaimed random shizzle and decked out for the season with some extra sparkly touches. Grab a group of mates and putt your way round the random junk, stopping off at the kiosk for some fairground-style food and hot and cold toddies…
Right now Junkyard are upping the Christmas cheers with three special cocktails perfect for winter. Designed to warm the cockles – and boy, does it! – is the Proper Vimto Grog, combining Manchester’s famous soft drink export with amaretto and hot Somersby cider.
The Pie Hard teams Polish Wyborowa vodka with amaretto and gingerbread syrup, and as we can’t get enough of our sweets treats, we were loving the mini mince pies ‘garnish’ – plus the salted caramel matchsticks topping on the Bad Santa – seeing Baileys say hello to a salted caramel-flavoured Kahlúa.
All we can say is get the golfing out of the way first…
