WHAT with an ever-increasing barrage of breweries, beer fests and craft beer bars, it is clear that Manchester loves a good pint (as if that was ever in doubt).

Cooper Hall is not a beer hall in the traditional sense

Hence why NoHo Ltd - owners of NoHo, Dusk til Pawn and Wood & Co - have hopped (geddit) on the bandwagon, confirming rumours that they will soon launch a 300-cover European beer hall in the Northern Quarter.

We're told Cooper Hall won’t be ‘your typical beer hall’. Taking inspiration from the history of Sevendale House - which was built as a textile warehouse for I.J. & G Cooper Ltd in 1903, and underwent a £6m renovation in 2014 - the venue has been painstakingly restored over a number of months: combining period features such as glazed brick walls with large skylight windows, plush leather seating combined with vintage furniture. Salvaged wooden benches, meanwhile, encourage drinkers to take a pew in ‘an inviting beer garden style atmosphere’.

Sevendale House, Dale StreetCooper Hall will open in Sevendale House on Dale Street this winter

A wide range of European beers, IPAs craft ales, wines and cocktails will be on offer; with freshly brewed Tank Pilsner Urquell from the Czech Republic, distributed and unpasteurised directly from Pilsen, alongside several rotating brews on tap and many more by the bottle.

There are also plans to work with local street food traders to put on monthly themed food nights and DJs will play several nights a week.

Rebecca Race, director at NoHo ltd, said; “Sevendale House has such an abundance of character, we felt confident we could create a concept totally different to NoHo and Dusk til Pawn that would complement our existing offering. Our inspiration for the interior very much comes from the history of the building, we wanted to pay tribute to its namesake.

“Cooper Hall is not a beer hall in the traditional sense. We’re creating a bar that’s the ideal place to drop by for a drink after work with your friends, hang out at the weekends, and generally come and enjoy a range of quality beers and cocktails in a chilled out environment, with good music and food events with really decent street food traders.”
