EDUARD Xatruch, Oriol Castro and Mateu Casañas are well known in Spain for pushing culinary boundaries with exciting food that is also informal and sociable. The name of their restaurant is Compartir which means ‘to share’ and this can be seen in a menu of exquisite dishes served to the middle of the table so everyone can tuck in.
Exciting food that is also informal and sociable
The menu is full of surprises, offering a markedly modern outlook and cutting-edge techniques while still remaining true to the traditional dishes of Catalonia. Don’t just take our word for it – the restaurant, which is in the idyllic setting of Cadaqués between the mountains and the sea, is recommended in the Michelin Guide and has been awarded two suns in the Repsol guide, a testament to excellence across the Ibérian peninsula.
The triumvirate met in the kitchens of El Bulli where they trained under Ferran Adrià, rising through the ranks to senior positions before leaving to pursue their ambition of opening their own restaurant.
Working alongside Nacho Manzano, the trio have created an exclusive eight-dish menu that will showcase the skills and sensibilities of Compartir’s food at a special event in Ibérica on Tuesday 15 November.
The dinner is now sold out in Manchester, unfortunately. If you'd like to be the first to hear about upcoming events at Ibérica, join their mailing list.
