MOST people visit EastZEast for the authentic Punjabi cooking, but they’re missing a trick if they don’t order a cocktail or two while they’re there. The drinks menu is a lesser-known gem, with a comprehensive range of tipples spanning beer to brandy, rum to gin. It’s arguably the cocktails that steal the show, however: a host of national favourites presented with a dash of EastZEast flair and mirrored in a range of inventive non-alcoholic mocktails.
There are few better places than EastZEast to indulge in a Cosmo
For a real boozy bonanza, it has to be Long Island Iced Tea. A blend of white rum, gin, vodka, tequila and cointreau - shaken with fresh lime and topped with a splash of cola - not only is it naughtily strong, it looks amazing too. After all, it’s not often you see lime origami.
Equally refreshing is the Mojito; a simple yet sophisticated blend of rum, mint and lime. Off the alcohol? Try EastZEast Refresh. This cooling medley combines mint, lime and soda with a sprinkle of brown sugar.
Those with a sweet tooth, meanwhile, might want to plump for Pina Colada - a creamy concoction with rum and pineapple juice - or its smoothie equivalent, which combines natural yoghurt with pineapple juice and honey.
With an opulent interior, reminiscent of exotic climes, there are few better places than EastZEast to indulge in a Cosmopolitan. And teetotallers can still enjoy all the Cosmo’s fruity fun, courtesy of Mango Sunrise; a concoction of orange, mango and cranberry shaken with fresh lime (yes, it does taste as a gorgeous as it looks.)
Berry mocktails are well represented, too, with the likes of Strawberry Dream and EastZEast touch. If you like your fruit concoctions a bit more potent, we recommend Sex on the Beach (figuratively, that is...) Vodka shaken with peach schnapps, orange and cranberry and juice, it’s a holiday in a glass.
We could go on but that would be spoiling the fun. For drinks with drive, it’s time to head East.
