NEW YORK is one of those places that's larger than life. Taller buildings, busier streets and bigger brunches. With The Pen And Pencil taking its inspiration from Manhattan's 1950's steakhouses, it's no wonder that their brunches are not only big, but bottomless.

Choose your dish, eat it, choose another one. Never has being a human conveyor belt of gluttony seemed quite so appealing.

Huge windows letting in the light and a cool but understated fit-out mean The Pen And Pencil is as much of a draw during the day as it is at night. And as for the bottomless brunches, what a draw they are. Held between 10am and 2pm on the last Saturday of every month, they're a real clear-the-diary, hold-all-my-calls type affair.

For £30 per person, you can take the excesses of the weekend, treble them and then some, and squeeze it all into a glorious Sunday session that would be the highlight of anyone's month.

Eggs Florentine, Eggs Pen and Pencil, American breakfasts, grilled cheese sandwiches, pancake stacks, signature burgers, corned beef hash, steak and eggs.....phew, that's quite a selection.

Choose your dish, eat it, choose another one. Never has being a human conveyor belt of gluttony seemed quite so appealing.

It's not only the food that's free-flowing, the drinks are just as liberal. Choose from brunch classics like Bloody Marys and Mimosas or branch out with a brunch special cocktail. Take the straightforward approach with an Amstel or posh-up with Prosecco. Whatever you choose, there's always more if you want it.

It's first come, first served unless you plan ahead in book in advance. Have you sworn to be more organised this year? Go on, book now.
