FOR five decades he thrilled audiences, broke boundaries and forever changed the face of popular music. And, whilst Bowie may have passed into a star-crossed world of another kind, his legacy shall remain.

Test your knowledge with a ‘Quizzy Stardust’ quiz, then settle in for some classic Bowie films

In celebration of the artistic icon, Botanical Film Club have bought forward their February event and will instead host an evening of Bowie magic on Wednesday 27 January.

Bowie buffs can test their knowledge with a ‘Quizzy Stardust’ quiz at 6pm, before settling into a comfy beanbag for a medley of classic Bowie films, including: Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars and The Man Who Fell to Earth. Not only that, there’ll be Bowie-themed food and Bombay Sapphire cocktails, as well as a late night disco and face painting for fans of the legend’s signature lightening flash.

As ever, both cinema club and quiz entry are free, although donations are encouraged. Since Bowie died of cancer, all money raised will go to The Christie, a cancer treatment centre in Manchester.

So put on your red shoes and dance the blues - it’s set to be a weird and very wonderful evening.
