Manchester’s original streetwear icon Bench is throwing a huge sample sale, and everyone’s invited
The city’s original streetwear icon, Bench, is throwing the sample sale to end all sample sales this November.
Next Thursday (6 November) between 6-10pm, Bench is hosting a three-floor takeover of local tattoo studio The Manchester Social for its Open House sample sale.
The event will celebrate the brand’s roots with plenty of noughties nostalgia, free drinks, live DJs, content creation zones and even free tattoos.
Shoppers can search through rails of exclusive pieces and samples from the Bench Revival Collection - a fresh take on the original Y2K aesthetic the brand became renowned for. Here, they’ll find reimagined classics like oversized tees, vintage wash and 90s-style denims, oversized sweats and more. Followers of the brand will get to see teasers of the collection on social media in the lead-up to the event.
There will be extra goodies from Isovibe and Sunday Rain, available with the first 50 purchases, and all proceeds from the sale will be donated to homeless charity Mustard Tree, helping support people across Greater Manchester.
The first 25 guests to book will get a free flash tattoo on the night, courtesy of Manchester Social’s talented fine-line artists. Bookings can be made in advance for this directly with Manchester Social from Monday 3 November.
Guests can also enjoy a vintage gaming zone and throwback beats from live DJs, giving unfiltered 90s house party vibes (minus the dodgy internet dial-up).
If that wasn’t enough, there’ll also be cool photo ops, cocktails courtesy of Zubrowka, Baby Beer shots with Licor 43 and non-alcoholic rum cocktails from Caleño.
Joanne Reidy, Head of Marketing at Apparel Brands Group commented, “At Bench, Manchester isn’t just our home, it’s helped shape our identity. We’re proud that every sale from the Open House sample sale will go directly to Mustard Tree, supporting their vital work helping people across the city.”
Jack Barton, Head of Communications and Impact at Mustard Tree adds, “We’re incredibly grateful to be the beneficiary of this event. Our mission is to combat poverty and prevent homelessness – it is down to the goodwill of our Greater Manchester partners who make this possible. Thank you to everyone at Bench for all their brilliant support!”
Bookings are now open for a FREE flash tattoo on the night. The first 25 guests to book directly through Manchester Social bag a FREE flash tattoo* on the night from the team's talented fine-line artists. BOOK HERE by selecting a time slot and artist (*selected flash designs only, one slot per person).
