Action Against Hunger's massive food and drink charity party heads to Upper Campfield Market in September
Auction Against Hunger has been a firm fixture on London’s food and drink scene since it began in 2012. The sell-out event, which has raised over half a million pounds, now attracts some of the biggest names in the business who come together to eat, drink and enjoy an evening of fun and fundraising with a difference.
Now Action Against Hunger, the charity that works to end malnourishment around the world, has announced that it is bringing its sixth massive food and drink party to the north for the first time.
Guests are each given a special card listing each of the fourteen restaurants, chefs and the dishes...
On Thursday 6th September, there will be a unique gathering of seven of the region’s top chefs at Upper Campfield Market Hall on Deansgate, along with seven of Manchester’s most well-loved restaurants.
Each will produce an extra special dish for guests to enjoy along to a blistering soundtrack from some of the city's finest musicians and DJs. There will also be appearances from special hosts and guest auctioneers to keep the party atmosphere going.
For now, the charity is keeping the Manchester line up of chefs and restaurants under wraps, but is expected to reveal the big names over the next few weeks. Recent events have attracted well-known figures from the capital’s leading restaurants such as Adam Handling of the Frog, Anna Hansen of the Modern Pantry and Nieves Barragán Mohacho of Sabor.
How does it work?
Guests are each given a special card listing each of the fourteen restaurants, chefs and the dishes they are producing on the night. They are then invited to go round at their own pace and choose a whopping seven of them to enjoy as well as unlimited snacks from a number of exciting brands.
As well as the food, the ticket price also includes five drinks from the North's most innovative brewers, distillers and bars.
As always, there will be the opportunity to bid for a number of incredible, impossible-to-buy prizes and experiences in the exciting live and silent auctions. Past once-in-a-lifetime prizes have included an exclusive top end chef in your own home, top class holidays and private dining experiences.
On the evening, there will also be on the spot games and other opportunities to win all sorts of prizes, giveaways and goody bags generously donated by dozens of well-known brands.
There is expected to be a high demand for tickets. A small number of tickets will be released on 19th July at an introductory price, followed by a series of limited edition releases.
