The accolades keep coming for the talented team at the Deansgate Mews casual bistro

Just eight months after flinging its doors open on Deansgate Mews, restaurant Another Hand is the latest Manchester name to make it into the Michelin Guide. It comes just a couple of months after the team, headed up by chefs Julian Pizer and Max Yorke, was awarded the Best Newcomer award at the Manchester Food and Drink Awards.

Joining the likes of Erst, Adam Reid at the French and OSMA, Another Hand is the eleventh restaurant in Manchester to be featured in the guide which is updated every year.

The new Michelin entry, which recounts the restaurant’s “appealing array of sharing plates” illustrates Another Hand’s decision to favor towards using local suppliers and producers.

On the menu, you’ll find a spotlight on produce from an array of Manchester's best ethical growers and suppliers. The likes of Polyspore Mushrooms - who we recently caught up with, Cinderwood Market Garden and Littlewoods Butchers are all showcased on sharing plates that the Michelin Guide describes as “punchy and pronounced”.

Stationed on the upper level of Deansgate’s Great Northern Warehouse, you could easily miss it if you’re not careful, but be sure to look out for the colourful stairway leading up to some of Manchester’s best producers. This is located more or less halfway along the old railway building between Peter Street and Great Bridgewater Street.

Deansgate Mews also includes multi-accoladed Dormouse Chocolate, International Chocolate Award winners, and suppliers to the likes of Caroline Martin’s Sao Paulo Project as well as Another Hand. While you’re there, pick up a tangy sourdough from Holy Grain bakery too. You’ll find its loaves all over town, not least on the menu of its Michelin Guide neighbour.

Hot tip: get yourself booked in to Another Hand soon before it bags another award and snapping up a seat there becomes a physical impossibility.
