THE original prodigal son of beef patties, Almost Famous Burgers has returned.
Sort of.
introducing some new self-deprecating specials aptly named The Towering Inferno, Burning Down The House and the fully loaded Fire Alarm Chilli.
With the closure of Almost Famous following the news that Manchester’s favourite burger joint had recently gone up in flames (see the photos here), there was widespread panic about where Mancunians would be able to get their fill of sloppy artery-bothering super burgers (not that there's a shortage of options).
Luckily enough, neighbouring sister restaurant, Luck Lust Liquor & Burn (Baby Burn), has adopted some extra Almost Famous menu items to act as a temporary replacement while the original location upstairs has its extremely burnt well-well-well-well done burgers removed and the kitchen replaced - They'll probably need to pop a new roof on too.
Luck Lust Liquor & Burn’s new menu will comprise of former favourites such as the Famous Burger and Triple Nom, while also introducing some new self-deprecating specials aptly named The Towering Inferno, Burning Down The House and the fully loaded Fire Alarm Chilli. On top of the Almost Famous specials is the original, Mexican inspired menu of burritos, tacos and enchiladas.
While it might not have the same hipster-diner underground (but upstairs) ambiance of Manchester’s worst kept secret, it will come as a welcome relief for many NQ'ians that they can sink their teeth into Almost Famous’, now quite famous, dirty delights once more.
With the Almost Famous Beach Club recently opening at Great Northern also offering a range of burgers, there is more than enough Almost Famous to go round until the original venue rises from the ashes like a meaty cheesy saucy Phonenix - oh i say.
Luck Lust Liquor & Burn opens at 5pm Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 12pm Thursday to Sunday.
