FAMILIES on a day out in Manchester can now enjoy a decadent pit-stop at City Café Manchester in the DoubleTree by Hilton hotel. They've just launched a goodie-packed afternoon tea for children, and a new All Things Strawberry afternoon tea for adults.
The afternoon tea includes a gingerbread man that children can decorate themselves with piping chocolate, hundreds and thousands, and chocolate drops
The kids' afternoon tea starts with sandwiches before moving on to cookies, jelly and ice cream, and a gingerbread man that children can decorate themselves with piping chocolate, hundreds and thousands, and chocolate drops. Kids get a milkshake to wash it all down, and colouring books and puzzles to keep them happy once they've finished eating.
Parents meanwhile can tuck into the more grown-up delights of the 'All Things Strawberry' afternoon tea. No colouring books this time, but you do get strawberry macaroons, trifle, a strawberries and cream tart, and classic sandwiches such as egg mayonnaise and chicken and red onion. It's accompanied by unlimited tea from an extensive menu which includes English breakfast tea, green tea and a variety of fruit teas.
The new afternoon tea menus are served in the hotel’s relaxed Piccadilly Lounge and in the stylish City Café restaurant. The DoubleTree by Hilton is located opposite Manchester Piccadilly station.
The limited edition All Things Strawberry Afternoon Tea is available from 1 July-30 August from 3pm-4.30pm daily for £30 for two people. The kid’s afternoon tea is £9.95 per child and is available for children aged four to twelve.
